WHAT WE KEPT

A still-life photo essay. In development.

2025: What We Kept documents family heirloom clothing: A father's jacket, a grandmother's sari.  A brother’s kurta. A sister’s bomber jacket. An aunt’s dress. An uncles suits - the pieces people keep for decades and can't fully explain why, photographed on a clothesline built inside a studio and lit like objects in a museum collection.

The idea comes from a memory of my mother hanging laundry to dry when I was a kid in Queens.

Garments are sourced from families across New York through an open call, each one paired with a recorded interview from whoever kept it.

Unlike my past personal work, this project is being developed in partnership before it's produced.

I'm looking for the right editorial or institutional partner to bring it into the studio.

Includes: photo, audio, written essay.

Currently seeking partnership for production. Targeting completion by December 2026.
