Title: The Way We Dress When We Are Ourselves
Description: The Way We Dress When We Are Ourselves is an ongoing fashion series photographing residents of Jackson Heights, New York — one of the most ethnically diverse urban neighborhoods in the world.
The work is simple: the people here — largely overlooked by traditional fashion systems — are already fashion subjects.
Already worthy of the elevated, elegant visual language usually reserved for someone else.
It is a fashion project. This is not a documentary project. This distinction matters.
Each photo is made with the same intention as any editorial shoot — the lighting, the framing, the attention — except the subjects are chosen from the street, from the neighborhood, from real life.
They are elevated by style and photography in the community that made them, exactly as they are.
CURRENTLY CASTING: Stylist and Producer.
