Taurat Hossain (he/him) is a New York–based fashion and editorial photographer.

Alongside his fashion and commercial work, Taurat photographs selective cultural and editorial assignments with a strong social sensitivity, documenting stories on free speech, social movements, politics, immigration, human rights, and women’s reproductive rights.

His photography has appeared across the styles, art & culture, opinion, and business desks of publications including Architectural Digest, Cosmopolitan (USA and Middle East), The New York Times, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Insider, Vox, The Atlantic, Anadolu Agency, Documented, and other international fashion and culture outlets.

His work was recognized by The Washington Post as part of the Best Styles Photos of 2024, and in 2025 his documentary work in Los Angeles was recognized as a finalist for Photo of the Year.

Taurat has also been commissioned to photograph for Bloomberg Originals’ television program Bullish.

In addition to his photography practice, Taurat is an accredited freelance producer for events, media productions, and performances featuring emerging New York artists, musicians, comedians, and independent theatre—work that has been featured by Time Out New York and Teen Vogue.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Taurat also worked as a writer for the sitcom The Morning Huddle.
