Taurat Hossain (he/him) is a New York–based photographer working across fashion, editorial, and documentary.

His work moves between campaign imagery for global brands, portraits of cultural figures, and long-form documentary stories that follow people and places over time. He shoots across film and digital, bringing a cinematic approach to both commissioned and personal work.

Work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, Architectural Digest, Cosmopolitan (USA and Middle East), The Atlantic, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, L’Officiel Australia, Vox, and Insider.

His commercial clients include L’Oréal, Kérastase, New Balance, Von Dutch, and iCapital. He has been commissioned by Bloomberg Originals for its television program Bullish and by iCapital for key art for The Bridge.

His personal work is rooted in New York City. The Way We Dress When We Are Ourselves is an ongoing fashion series made with residents of Jackson Heights, Queens. Last of Chinatown is a long-form project on the aging figures of New York’s Chinatown underworld.

The Washington Post recognized his work among its Best Style Photos of 2024. In 2025, his documentary coverage of the Los Angeles ICE raids was selected as a finalist for the Istanbul Photo of the Year Awards.
