COMPANIONS
An ongoing personal portrait series.
March 2026: I have been photographing New Yorkers together with the companions they keep in their apartments: the animals that shape how they live in a city that gives them almost no room to keep them.
It started the way most good ideas do, by accident. I saw a man walking a pet pig through the East Village and couldn't let it go.
Since then I've been let into homes across the city to photograph people with the pets and companions they've built a life around.
Part one is complete. Parts two and three are in production over the coming months.
Includes: portrait photography, produced by me.
Open to new subjects. If you or someone you know has a companion worth photographing, reach out.
Currently pitching to The New Yorker, and similar outlets.
